Openreach has today announced the next 551 locations to be included in it’s FTTP upgrade programme, with a target of reaching 25 million premises by December 2026.
FTTP (Fibre To The Premises) is the next generation gigabit capable broadband service being rolled out by Openreach as a replacement to the old analogue phone line and FTTC broadband that most of us use today.
Currently Openreach are seeing an average of 17,000 subscriptions to the new service, which is expected to increase to 75,000 sign-ups per week in order to achieve their target. Expect more locations to be added to the list sooner than later.
Check if you can already get FTTP with our connectivity report tool – just enter your house number and postcode.
